Bangladesh Hope: Shining the Light of Christ in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a South Asian country with a population of over 165 million people, making it one of the most densely populated nations in the world. Tragically, it is also considered an “unreached” people group when it comes to Christianity, with only about 0.2% of the population identifying as Christian, and the vast majority being Muslim.

This presents a daunting challenge, but also a profound opportunity for the gospel to transform lives and communities. It is in this context that Bangladesh Hope has emerged as a beacon of hope, dedicated to proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and bringing transformation to the people of Bangladesh.

Led by Pastor Phelip Sarker, Bangladesh Hope has grown from humble beginnings into a vibrant movement of church planting, discipleship, and mercy ministry. One of the key aspects of their work is the care and support they provide for vulnerable children through their Blessing Home (boys’ orphanage) and Grace Home (girls’ orphanage).

The Blessing Home, established in 2012, currently provides a safe, nurturing environment for about 20 boys. The Grace Home, founded in 2015, is home to 24 girls. These homes not only meet the physical needs of the children but also address their emotional, developmental, and spiritual wellbeing. The children receive quality education, counseling, and discipleship, equipping them to become strong, Christ-centered individuals who will positively impact their communities.
