Typically, children born to mothers in prison in Argentina have lived with their mothers in the penitentiary system until they turn four.
These children are then released to family or sent into foster care or adoption services to care for them. Currently, the government has begun releasing many of these mothers and children. Suddenly, they are being left without a support network, with nowhere to go, no resources, and no homes.
In the past, SACDEM has been able to enter the prisons and help care for the children living with their incarcerated mothers. Since COVID, they have not been allowed entry, so they are now providing resources of clothing, diapers, food, and medicine to a trusted shelter in the city that has been taking in many of these women and children.
Please pray for the Lord to provide for these mothers and children and, more importantly, bring them to faith in Him. Pray for creativity for SACDEM in ministering to these intense needs.
