In areas of Brazil, gangs attract children with promises of protection, community, and income.
Many children join gangs at age ten and carry weapons by age 12.
Israel Shalom uses music appreciation courses, beginner to advanced music lessons, and dance classes to bring the gospel and community to at-risk children on the outskirts of São Paulo. Many of their volunteers are graduates of the program who have returned to invest in these young people, serving as living proof that Jesus is more satisfying than anything gangs and crime can offer.
Please pray for the Lord to help Israel Shalom to bring them the gospel of peace and fold them into true communities in their local churches.
