Meet Calvary Mission Center

Around 35 percent of Nagpur’s population lives in slums. Calvary Mission Center (CMC) focuses on social work projects to bring the gospel to these impoverished areas.

Whether it’s providing medical exams to orphans, funding school for destitute children, transporting kids to school in three-wheeled vehicles called rickshaws, or caring for youth with special needs, CMC strives to meet real needs in their community while sharing the gospel and connecting those in the slums with a local church.

Purple Woods is CMC’s ministry to disabled children, including those with cancer, autism, dyslexia, and ADHD. This vital ministry provides need-based activities to help these children thrive and understand their worth in Christ.

CMC offers vocational training programs (tailoring, cosmetology, accounting) for impoverished women, vending and food cart programs for widows and elderly women, and musical training for young people in the community. These ministries bring dignity and self-respect to people and call them out of darkness and into the light of the gospel.

The affiliated church holds services in two slum locations, and all programs share the gospel to draw people into the church for fellowship, discipleship, and support. Through CMC’s vision for new prayer groups, women’s care groups, Bible classes, and youth summer camps, the gospel can reach more who need to hear the good news.
