Ministry Update: Reformed Heart Orphans Center (Kenya)
One of the most inspiring aspects of RHOC’s work is witnessing the spiritual transformation in the children’s lives. Through daily Bible studies, church attendance, and mentorship, many orphans have come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. These children, once devastated by the loss of their parents, have found hope, healing, and a new family in Christ through the ministry of RHOC.
In addition to spiritual nurture, RHOC is committed to providing the children with a well-rounded education that will equip them for a successful future. Traditionally, this has meant expensive school fees and transportation costs, as the kids have been sent to local and boarding schools, not to mention differences in academic and spiritual quality between these different schools.
Just this week, after a year of prayers, planning, and construction, RHOC opened grades 1-3 of its very own school, The Reformed Heart Comprehensive School. This school will benefit both RHOC’s own kids and children from the local community and church, providing them with a quality Christian education, reducing school and transportation fees, and providing jobs for local teachers and administrators. Phase two will add grades 4-6.
In addition to answered prayers over the past year for the new school, the Lord has also answered prayers for several of the high schoolers who sat for national exams in November. Pastor Andrew proudly reports that both Emily and Martha passed their exams and are eligible to attend university in the fall! Praise God for his faithful care for these young women!
