Every Gift Has a Story: Teen Ministry

All of these girls arrived at Teen Ministry while enduring severe hardships, including sexual abuse, parental neglect, hunger, illiteracy, and poverty. Teen Ministry has come alongside each of them with the comfort and hope of the gospel, educational support, and practical care, including meals, clothing, and hygiene items.

Many young women and several young men who have come through Teen Ministry have come to faith in Christ. They are breaking cycles of abuse and darkness by marrying believers and seeking to raise their families to love the Lord and His church. Several have been sent out as missionaries to outlying areas, assisting local churches in sharing the gospel with children in their communities and spreading the light of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ across the country.These young people have persevered in school against all odds, often even against their parents’ wishes. The Lord has helped them to thrive in their studies and given them hope for a future they didn’t think was possible. With help from the Oakseed Bazaar catalog, over 30 girls have received life-changing scholarships!

Consider Dalia, who first came to Teen Ministry at age ten, broken by abuse. She finished school and graduated from university as a teacher so she could return to teach the younger girls through the ministry that had blessed her. The Lord has used her to bring many to faith in Christ as she has faithfully shared the gospel, bearing witness to God’s work.

Consider Teena, who arrived at Teen Ministry in early middle school, struggling with psychological issues and floundering in school as a result. Teen Ministry came alongside her, supporting and praying for her, and she was able to finish school and graduate from university with an accounting degree. She loves the Lord and seeks to honor Him in her marriage and parenting.

Consider Nana, who, at 16 years old, didn’t know how to read or write. The Lord brought her to Teen Ministry, where she came to faith in Christ and was encouraged to attend school. She graduated from university several years ago and started her own business. The Lord has used her to encourage many other girls to persevere in their educations or return to school.
