Ministry Update: 1Hope4Africa (South Africa)

1Hope4Africa is a Christ-centered ministry based in Pretoria, South Africa that is dedicated to caring for orphaned and abandoned children. Driven by the belief that “compassion takes action,” 1Hope operates two baby homes that provide a safe, nurturing environment for infants and toddlers in desperate need.

In answer to prayer, many of the children in 1Hope’s care are moving toward placements with either adoptive or foster families. This movement comes after years of long delays on their cases lasting months and, sometimes, years and is a cause for thanksgiving. However, prayers are requested for each of these placements to be with Godly families.

At the end of the month, 1Hope will be hosting a two-day orphan care conference, focused on the call God has given His people to care for the fatherless. Please be in prayer for that time.

How to Pray for 1Hope4Africa

• Pray for the Lord to use the Orphan Care Conference to encourage those who are already working to be faithful to the fatherless and spur others on to join in the work.
• Pray for the Lord to provide godly families for each of the children in 1Hope’s care.
• The children are starting to have questions about their forever families. Pray for the Lord to help 1Hope’s staff to be gentle but also truthful in their responses, for help trusting the Lord to provide a godly family for each of them, and for the Lord to help the kids to trust Him in the uncertainty.
• Pray for wisdom in bringing up the children in the fear of the Lord, according to each child’s needs.
