Ministry Update: Love Never Fails (Ethiopia)

Love Never Fails ministers in Cherkos, the red-light district of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Dr. Frew, the director, is a medical doctor who screens and treats the HIV/AIDS virus. During his time with patients, Dr. Frew teaches of the love of Christ that never fails and never lets go. Love Never Fails works with women who are enslaved in prostitution and helps to free them by training them in sustainable skills like running food carts or baking and selling in the marketplace. It also provides start-up capital to begin their businesses.

Through home visits, Love Never Fails builds relationships with women trapped in prostitution, showing them the unconditional love of Jesus. Many of these women have come to faith, finding new life in Christ. One woman shared, “Now I can see. I see the light!” as she testified to the dramatic change in her life.

Love Never Fails also cares for people living with HIV/AIDS, providing medical treatment, nutritional support, and the comfort of Christ. Dr. Frew recounts how one HIV patient came to him, not seeking medical help, but asking, “I want to follow the God you worship. Will you please tell me about him?” This man went on to become an evangelist in his local church.

Dr. Frew reports that July and August have been very busy. In addition to daily project work, which included regular home visits, medical care, and vocational training, Love Never Fails hosted a medical campaign that treated over 5,000 people.
