Ministry Update: Vision for the Visually Challenged (India)

Vision for the Visually Challenged is dedicated to sharing the gospel and providing comprehensive care for visually challenged individuals and their families in India. It focuses on five key areas: gospel outreach, discipleship and church integration, education and vocational training, Braille Bible distribution, and family care.

VVC’s missionaries regularly visit public spaces, hospitals, and homes to share the gospel and conduct weekly fellowship meetings. It provides educational assistance and vocational training, including helping with school/college admissions, providing educational aids for visually challenged students and training in Braille.

The ministry’s Braille Bible distribution program has partnered with local churches and Bible societies to provide blind individuals with God’s word in an accessible format. VVC also operates a resource library with a collection of Braille books and audiobooks on various topics, including Christian literature.

VVC supports families of the visually challenged through monthly provisions, counseling, legal aid, and assistance in accessing government programs and benefits. It also helps with housing, marriages, and other social needs. Its Community Outreach Program extends its impact beyond the walls of its center, including home visits, awareness campaigns, church partnerships, and job placement assistance.

Last month, VVC hosted an outreach program in Aurangabad. In answer to prayer, the Lord held off the rain, and people were able to travel from distant areas to worship together. The Lord also provided a church building free of cost for the program. Many people attending heard the gospel for the first time. Over the next several months, VVC is planning on hosting several more outreach programs in other neighboring districts.
