Ministry Update: Kenya Needy Orphans and Children (Kenya)

Kenya Needy Orphans and Children is a ministry under Grace Baptist Church in Kisumu, Kenya, that supports high school education and post-graduation planning for orphans and impoverished children. Its mission is to promote quality education and provide spiritual nurturing so these young people can serve the Lord in their churches, vocations, and lives.

KNOC provides school fees, vocational training, and career guidance to children from poor families and orphanages. Many of these students come from homes of pastors in the local Reformed Baptist network. The ministry’s goal is to see them complete their high school education and transition successfully into the workforce or further studies.

Beyond just meeting physical needs, KNOC also focuses on the spiritual development of its students. It organizes retreats and conferences where the gospel is faithfully preached, and many have come to saving faith in Christ through these events.

KNOC’s board recently completed its annual school visits for many of the young people in its care. Here is an introduction to several of these young people.

S is a senior and has been associated with KNOC throughout his high school years. He will sit for his final exams in November and hopes to go on to college to study electronics or computer science. His older brother is already in college, and his parents are separated and live elsewhere, so S basically lives by himself.
