Ministry Update: The Way

The Way is a Christ-centered ministry in the favelas (slums) of São Paulo, Brazil, that is profoundly impacting the lives of children and families who live in poverty, violence, and hopelessness.

These favelas are dark places filled with poverty, drugs, violence, and despair. Many children grow up seeing family members arrested and imprisoned, with little hope of breaking free from these destructive patterns. The Way offers these kids a different way – the way of Jesus Christ.

Seeing how much their kids were benefiting from the physical training and Bible studies, a group of mothers requested their own time for exercise and Bible study, and thus the Monday evening mothers’ group was born. During these times, The Way cares for these mothers by providing a safe space for fellowship, discipleship, and physical activity.
