Ministry Update: Fountain of Life Christian School (DR)
Fountain of Life Christian School offers a high-quality, accredited education that equips students to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. With a focus on developing critical thinking skills, a love for learning, and a biblical worldview, FLCS aims to create servant leaders in their communities. Students receive biblical instruction throughout their education, learning not only core academic subjects but also how to apply God’s Word to every area of life. The school also provides opportunities for students to get involved in ministry, such as leading worship, teaching Sunday School, and participating in outreach events.
The school has been instrumental in leading countless students and their families to faith in Christ. Through daily Bible classes, chapel services, and intentional mentorship, the teachers and staff pour into their students’ lives, sharing the gospel’s life-changing message.
By the grace of God, one of the accomplishments we had as an institution this year stemmed from our celebration of International Francophonie Day. Almost every year we have a variety of activities and performances acted out by our high school students in French to commemorate this day. However, this year was different because we had two special guests that came to watch the act—representatives of our school district.
As they observed, they were so impressed by the students’ talent that they gave a speech to recognize their hard work after the event. They also decided to invite several 12th graders to perform at their own francophone event, which occurred a few days later. This news brought a lot of joy to the school, and it reflected the hard work that our French teacher, Jean Aurelien Medilien, had been doing with the students. It was a great honor to have Fountain of Life represented in a district activity that hosted students from many other schools.
The nine 12th graders that were selected to participate were able to enjoy presentations from other schools aside from doing their own. Each of them was given a certificate to recognize their participation, and Jean Aurelien was given a round of applause for his hard work and dedication. We hope that our invitation to this event opens up doors for our students to participate in other activities of similar nature, representing the Fountain of Life and (above all) the Lord—who has brought us this far.
