Ministry Update: 1Hope4Africa (South Africa)

1Hope4Africa is a Christ-centered ministry based in Pretoria, South Africa, dedicated to caring for orphaned and abandoned children. Driven by the belief that “compassion takes action,” this remarkable organization operates two baby homes that provide a safe, nurturing environment for infants and toddlers in desperate need.

1Hope’s two baby homes care for nearly 18 abandoned or orphaned babies at a time. The homes are equipped with nurseries, play areas, and outdoor spaces designed to meet these precious little ones’ unique needs. Dedicated house parents and volunteers provide around-the-clock care, ensuring the babies receive the love, attention, and medical care they require.

This month with our little ones, we have been focused on potty training, learning colors and numbers, and improving concentration. We introduced fun games and obstacle courses to build problem-solving and communication skills.

With Lady N we’re encouraging shared play and helping her strengthen her legs to bear weight and, hopefully, stand. Our precious Lady N is doing really well. We’re so thankful for her weekly therapy—it’s made a big difference. She recently had an EEG; there weren’t any appointments until next year, but thankfully the doctors made room for her. We’ll get the results on the 29th. She’s not standing yet, but we’re working on it. She’s made great progress with facial recognition and loves humming along to familiar songs.

Mr. B is two months away from turning 2 and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate him. He’s full of energy—always climbing, exploring, and discovering the world in his own way. He has the sweetest laugh and gives the best hugs ever. Our heart is running all over the house with him!
