Ministry Update: MISIUR (Peru)

Thirty-six years have passed since the founding of MISIUR , a comprehensive missionary project promoted by Fr. Pedro Arana Quiroz and a group of evangelicals committed to the transformation of the most vulnerable communities in Peru. Since its inception, the mission has focused on serving the pressing needs of those affected by terrorism and political violence, as well as on the Human Settlements of Lima, always grounded in the word of God and the Church’s Integral Mission approach.

Over the years, we continue to give a living witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ, bringing hope to those who face material and spiritual shortages. Our commitment is to break the chains of poverty, injustice, and domestic violence, accompanying children and adolescents, contributing to the construction of a more just and supportive society, based on the word of God.

MISIUR continues to make significant strides in serving the communities of Peru, focusing on the holistic development of children and families.

MISIUR hosted its annual Summer Bible School (VBC) earlier this year, with over 120 children participating at various locations. The theme was “Gideon: Called for a Purpose” from Judges 6:11-40, focusing on learning to trust God in difficult times. At the closing ceremony, parents were invited to a time of preaching and presentation of the children’s artwork.

MISIUR also shares virtual “Food for the Soul” devotionals with its families, preparing regular times of reading and instruction in the Word to assist parents in their own study and leading family devotions.
