Ministry Update: Mi Lugar (Argentina)

Mi Lugar provides comprehensive care for children aged 1 to 3 in the Bajo Flores neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Young children in this community are often neglected and left completely alone during the day. Mi Lugar ministers to these children and families, offering the children a place where they will be loved and fed at no cost to the parents.

Ten years ago, the center officially opened its doors with 140 children on the first day, immediately demonstrating the desperate need in the community. Since then, approximately 1,000 children have passed through the program, each receiving care, education, and exposure to the Gospel alongside their families.

Mi Lugar has had special opportunities to care for several special needs children, demonstrating their value and worth and assisting families with no resources to care for them.

A two-year-old boy with Down syndrome came to the center unable to walk or socialize, having been rejected by other institutions due to his extreme conditions. The center immediately accepted Moses into their program. Today, he is socializing with other children, communicating, and learning to walk. Most importantly, his family is hearing the Gospel weekly, and the staff continues praying for their salvation.

Born with hydrocephalus and having had no exposure to other children, Luz has experienced tremendous transformation since coming to the center. Her family hears the Gospel on a weekly basis, and Luz has made remarkable developmental progress in her social and physical abilities.
