Ministry Update: Love Link (El Salvador)

Love Link is a remarkable ministry in El Salvador that has been transforming the lives of severely malnourished infants and children for over 35 years. During that time, it has cared for over 3,500 babies who would have otherwise faced a grim fate due to malnutrition.

At its baby house, Love Link’s doctors, nurses, and caregivers work tirelessly to restore these precious children to health. Through specialized nutrition, medical treatment, and loving care, babies who were once on the brink of death are brought back to vibrant life. Love Link’s ministry holds out more than just physical healing — it also shares the love and hope of Jesus Christ with the families, leading many to faith in the process.

In August of last year, Love Link received long-awaited government permission to admit children ages 2-5 years old, in addition to its traditional 0-2-year age range. Since moving to the new baby house, Love Link had the physical space to serve older toddlers but lacked legal authorization.

In the first quarter of this year, Love Link has cared for nine babies admitted to the Baby House. It has also provided follow-up and check-up services for an additional 337 children in both its ambulatory program and medical and nutritionist brigades. Over 900 children have received meals at Love Link’s seven feeding kitchen centers. Each of these programs also brings the opportunity for families to hear the good news of Jesus. Love Link’s director shared that it is “tremendous to see God’s faithfulness in every moment in service to all the children and their families.”

How to Pray for Love Link

• Love Link’s director has been praying fervently for a man to serve at the baby house, sharing the gospel with families of admitted babies and children coming for checkups daily. Please pray for the Lord to provide just the right man for this position.
• Pray for families of babies in the baby house—ask for peace during separation, hope during crisis, and openness to the gospel.
• Pray for healing of each baby in Love Link's care.
• Pray for open hearts for children and families who are hearing the Word of God daily in the seven feeding centers.
