Ministry Update: The Way (Brazil)

The Way is a Christ-centered ministry in the favelas (slums) of São Paulo, Brazil, profoundly impacting the lives of over 700 children and families living in poverty, violence, and hopelessness. The ministry operates in 15 different locations around the city through five main pillars: sports, culture, education, sustainability, and faith. The ministry is so named because Jesus is the Way.

A recent update from The Way’s Mandelhina location rejoiced to share that over 30 people from the local church are involved in this ministry. The leaders spent time praying and planning for the upcoming semester, which includes gardening, reading class, math class, music, and women’s activities. They decided to focus on the teens this year after noting that many drop out of The Way’s programs around this age.
