Ministry Update: Israel Shalom (Brazil)

Israel Shalom combines gospel preaching, discipleship, children’s programs, music and arts education, and sports ministry to reach families in the favelas of São Paulo, Brazil.A couple of years ago, Israel Shalom purchased a building to serve as the association’s headquarters, and has been adapting and renovating it since then to better serve the community. At the beginning of this year, the music classes and new Jiu-Jitsu program were finally able to move to the new location.

This year, 27 new music students have enrolled and will participate in musical instruction and Bible studies on a weekly basis. The ballet classes also started back up after a short break.

Israel Shalom renewed its partnership with the Meninos do Guaras project in March 2025. This football(soccer) team’s main purpose is to evangelize and teach the Bible. Every Thursday, they meet for praise and hearing God’s word. The team brings together more than 140 boys, and the partnership reaches approximately 410 people (boys and families) with the gospel. The Meninos do Guaras team won two tournaments in 2025 against various teams from São Paulo. These victories bring positive attention and credibility to the gospel-centered project.
