Ministry Update: HOH (Ethiopia)
House parents and staff create a community of love where children experience a stability many have never known.
HOH provides every child with a quality education, believing that it provides a pathway out of poverty and prepares young people to become self-reliant and productive members of society. The ministry covers school fees, uniforms, supplies, and tutoring support. Many HOH children excel academically, and numerous young people have graduated from university with professional degrees.
Beyond residential care, HOH reaches children and families in the surrounding community living in extreme poverty. The ministry provides educational support, feeding programs, and spiritual discipleship for families struggling to care for their children. This community-based approach allows HOH to impact more children while strengthening families and communities.
HOH’s goal is to reach children and families with the gospel and disciple them in Christian faith. Children participate in daily devotions, weekly church services, and consistent Bible teaching. Many children come to personal faith in Christ during their time at HOH.
This year marked a significant milestone in HOH’s ministry, as eight beneficiary children graduated from post-secondary programs. Three graduated from universities with degrees in developmental psychology, clinical pharmacy, and engineering, and two completed studies at technical and vocational colleges with degrees in accounting and garment production. Three received certificates from training programs in fashion design, garment production, and electricity. HOH proudly celebrates these young people’s achievements, thanking the Lord for his provision and keeping of each of them.
