An update from Kenya Needy Orphans and Children

Dear Brethren,

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;

his mercies never come to an end;

they are new every morning;

great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23

May the Lord’s covenant devotion to us be our great encouragement to press on in our love and service to Him and His people. It is our joy to write to you again about what the Lord is doing in and through us, even as we invite you to continue partnering and praying with us.

We are very grateful for your continued partnership and prayer. The Lord has been very gracious to us thus far. Providentially, schools have been able to resume learning for the second term. This had been difficult in the past few weeks due to heavy rains and perilous flooding across the country. In the following months, our high school graduates will sign up for different courses at the university and other technical polytechnics.

Please pray that the Lord may be pleased to guide these students as they think about their next steps in life. Pray for us and our partnering churches as we seek to evangelize and mentor them as well.

The high school graduates: From left to right: Kelvin, Riziki, Emmanuel, Janet, and Brelin

Most of our form four graduates have already determined what they want to study and the different career paths to take. Kelvin intends to study electrical engineering and information technology at a technical institute. Riziki, on the other hand, hopes to study hospitality and dietetics at a polytechnic. Emmanuel has yet to decide. Janet will join the university to train as a teacher, and Brelin hopes to study electrical installations at the polytechnic.

Tertiary education is extremely expensive in Kenya, yet our desire is to first faithfully reach out to these students with the gospel and then see them grow into God-fearing and responsible citizens. We believe that these children will eventually be instrumental in reaching the next generation with the gospel.

Prayer Points

  • Please pray for the Lord to grow Kelvin and Janet in faith, love, and steadfastness.
  • Pray for the salvation of the students who have not yet come to faith in Christ.
  • Pray for the provision of their tuition fees and upkeep.
  • Pray for us for wisdom as we seek to guide and mentor them.
