Oakseed’s ministry model is unique. Rather than sending foreign missionaries and ministry workers into an area, Oakseed partners with existing indigenous ministries that were started and are run by locals from the community. Having been born and raised in the community they serve, these ministry leaders are uniquely equipped to understand the needs of their people. They know that only the gospel of Jesus Christ can change their way of life and are seeking to meet physical needs while bringing this good news to the people around them.
When donations from the US are brought into other countries, there is always the possibility of funds being misused or creating a dependence upon foreign money. Oakseed’s goal is to avoid creating financial dependence and ensure that donations are used for the purpose for which they were intended, supporting ministries in bringing the gospel to their communities. As Oakseed’s ministry liaisons travel to each community, developing personal relationships with ministry leaders, they provide them with accountability for the funds given by Oakseed. This protects ministry leaders from temptation and false accusations and ensures that Oakseed’s donors can be confident that funds are being used for the intended purposes.
- Please pray for the Lord to bless and grow the relationships between Oakseed’s ministry liaisons and ministry partners so that they can be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
- Please pray for the Lord to give Oakseed’s ministry liaisons wisdom in shepherding ministry partners.
- Please pray for the Lord to help Oakseed’s ministry partners to use funds wisely.
- Please pray for the Lord to make Oakseed’s ministry partners above reproach and always be ready to make a defense to anyone who asks them for a reason for the hope that is in them (1 Pet. 3:15).
