Sugandh hosted a seminar about legal rights and processes for people in the Holambi Kalan community this month. Over 90 people participated, including lawyers who offered their time and expertise to counsel community members.
Legal advocacy is one of the major facets of Sugandh’s slum ministry. Because a majority of these slum dwellers are undocumented, they cannot access government resources, including hospital care. Sugandh works to help them obtain the necessary documents. They also work with impoverished Indians, who, though citizens, do not have the documents needed for daily life. Sometimes, this means tracking down distant family members in remote villages to request paperwork so they can obtain death certificates, bank papers, birth certificates, etc.
- Please pray for the Lord to protect and provide for the weak and marginalized in India, showing them that He alone is the Lord and the lover of their souls.
- Please pray for the Lord to give people ears to hear the gospel message proclaimed by Sugandh as they minister to people’s physical needs.
- Thank the Lord for laborers to help put together an event like this one, and please pray for Him to continue to provide godly volunteers and staff for Sugandh as they seek to bring the gospel and hope to the slums of South Delhi
