Prayer has always been an important part of Oakseed’s ministry. Prayer releases God’s power, and we have seen the impact that occurs when God’s people pray for our ministry partners around the world.
A recent incident reminded us again of the power of prayer. Our ministry partners who work among teens living in the garbage areas of Cairo tell us that police surrounded the church where they meet for several weeks. They report that the police informed them that they had been engaged in a gun battle with members of ISIS for eight hours. The police killed ten members of the terrorist group and confiscated bombs and materials the group had stored in their rented basement and had intended to use to bomb the church where our partners meet.
Please join us in thanking God for preserving the lives of our partners and the girls they serve. Please also pray for the newly admitted girls (about 50). Pray they would come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and pray for the safety of our partner’s two ministry centers. Please pray also that our partners will have wisdom in the daily decisions they face.
Many of our ministry partners serve in dangerous and dark places. Some also face persecution and pressure from the government in the nations they serve or from people in the community who are mistrustful of the Christian faith. Please continue to pray for our partners who serve in these areas. Pray God will protect them, that he will hide them from those who might choose to do them harm, and that they will have the courage to boldly preach the gospel no matter what comes their way.
