Reformed Heart Orphans Center in Kisii, Kenya, cares for 35 orphans by providing food, housing, education, and medical care. Oakseed loves the heart of the ministry, how diligently they teach the children about God’s love, and how that matters more for eternity than anything else they’re learning.
While these orphans were loved, fed, and well-cared for, they slept on dirt floors in dormitories with tin walls and roofs. The temperatures inside were extreme and not a healthy environment for the children.
Two years ago, Oakseed was able to help raise funds to build a boys’ dormitory. This year, the need for a new girls’ dormitory seemed like a vital project, but it also seemed like a far-off goal because they had just finished the boy’s dormitory and used all the funds.
However, the Lord heard our prayers and provided abundantly more than we could have asked or imagined! Thanks to an American youth group and other Oakseed donors, the girls are now enjoying their new dorm!
“Each time a need comes up, we pray, and the Lord just provides. Almost every time. I can’t see any of the genuine needs that the Lord has not supplied, including this last one, a dormitory. This came up so fast that it even surprised me! It looked like a future project that could never be achieved so soon… The Lord has just answered this, and we really thank God for this.” ~Rev. Sam Oluoch, Oakseed Ministry Liaison to Africa
