This spring, Sugandh offered a dental hygiene camp at the “Madhanpur Khadar” slum area, one of the most densely populated slums in India. Medical and dental check-ups, fairly common for children in the US, are extremely rare for residents of these areas.
According to Dr. Rick Horne, Oakseed Ministry Liaison to Africa and the Dominican Republic, “The gospel is a whole gospel. It’s not just saving the soul – it addresses the whole person. Our bodies will be renewed, not just our souls, in glory. There is a new heavens and a new earth. Whatever that means in its fullness, I’m not totally sure, but the picture is certainly one that includes the physical.” (Watch our videos on the Importance of Mercy Ministry here.)
Sugandh uses outreaches such as these dental hygiene clinics to serve the community and bring the gospel to bear on all areas of life. At this particular clinic, the children were participants in Sugandh’s after-school program, which offers snacks, tutoring, and other activities.
Prayer Points:
Please pray for the Lord to use this outreach to help Sugandh build relationships with their community, giving them further opportunities to share the gospel with them. Pray for the Lord to protect Sugandh from government persecution and give them continued creativity in proclaiming the gospel, and pray for the Lord to give hope to the hopeless through faith in Christ.
