In the summer of 2022, the Lord provided funds for Reformed Heart Orphans Center to construct new dormitories for the children in their care. Only after these buildings went up did they realize how much water runoff they now needed to deal with.

RHOC already had a well, but with so many children to care for, they use a lot of water regularly! They began to pray for the Lord to provide rainwater barrels for them to harvest the rainwater and store it for emergencies like when the well pump fails, or a power outage makes the well inaccessible.

RHOC’s facility is situated on steep ground, which means uncontrolled water runoff would cause soil erosion and eventually affect the foundations of their buildings further down the hill. They are also concerned about being good neighbors and do not want to negatively affect their neighbors’ properties either.

Rainwater barrels would protect the land around them, provide them with water reserves for emergencies, and give them opportunities to bless their neighbors by sharing water with them.

This summer, the Lord answered RHOC’s prayers and provided rainwater barrels for them!
