Ministry Update: Kenya Needy Orphans and Children (Kenya)

We received the following wonderful news from a board member of Kenya Needy Orphans and Children this month!

Romans 1:16-17: For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

The Lord has been very gracious and kind to us in this past month. It is our prayer that He continues to grant you much grace and fruit in your labors of love. This month we invite you to thank the Lord with us for we have witnessed the power of the Gospel in the salvation of two of our students and another student who got saved from the ministry of the Gospel in our annual teens retreat.

THE GOSPEL IS THE POWER OF GOD FOR SALVATION

Kevin and Christine, two of our students, are now members of Grace Baptist Church in Eldoret following their baptism in the month of June. Mitchell, sister to Kevin got saved during our annual teen’s retreat, she too was baptized and added to the Church in June. Kevin will be finishing his high school studies in the course of the year.

Here is an excerpt of Kevin’s testimony

“My name is Kevin. I heard the preaching of God’s Word from the Gospel of Matthew. I went sat down and thought about it for some time. I also remembered John 3:16 which helped me to understand the love of God for us. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour. I turned to God and repented and prayed for the forgiveness of my sins. I now believe that Jesus died for me to take my sins away and now I am no longer a slave of sin.”

Christine had this to say before her baptism:

I was listening to the hymn ‘All to Jesus I Surrender.’ The lyrics of the song moved my heart and made me feel guilty for my sins. So, I sat down and talked to myself and came to think of how God sent His only Son to die for my sins and how much He loves me, and that He is also willing to forgive me for all my wrongdoings. I repented and was humble before the Lord.”

Prayer Points

Please pray for the Lord to grow Kevin, Christine, and Mitchell in faith, love, and steadfastness and give them an insatiable hunger and thirst for Him and His word.

Pray for the Lord to continue to work in the hearts of the young people and bring more to faith in Jesus.
