Travel is a necessary aspect of ministry work. Just as the Philippian church willingly supported Paul’s ministry (Philippians 4:14-17), giving to the travel needs of ministry workers opens the door for sharing the good news and encouraging believers in their faith.
Whether ensuring a tutor can visit an impoverished child with classwork, contributing to a van to transport students and tutors to/from school, or enabling a ministry liaison to encourage a ministry partner, travel needs are vital to ministry work.
- For the Lord to provide for the travel needs of Oakseed’s ministry partners, staff, and ministry liaisons.
Here is a sampling of how travel is vital for many of Oakseed’s ministry partners and liaisons as part of their gospel ministry:
CEMIPRE (Chile) has some participants who travel to its facility from great distances around Valparaiso. They also take participants around town as they learn to confidently navigate with vision loss.
Emanuel House (Dominican Republic) welcomes over 150 children to their school daily. As they look to the future, they are praying for the Lord to provide a bus to make it easier to transport the children.
Kenya Needy Orphans and Children (Kenya) has their board members travel regularly to visit each student they support, giving spiritual counsel and oversight.
Love Link (El Salvador) has opened a new facility to host more infants and many older children. They regularly transport children to medical centers, including the hospital and public clinics, for vaccines and other appointments and are looking for a new van.
Morning Light (Ethiopia) provides educational support for impoverished children. Volunteer tutors travel by public transportation to visit impoverished children to help with classwork, as many parents cannot assist their children.
Mustard Seed Orphanage (Myanmar) is located in a politically volatile country, and there have been many instances of children being kidnapped on their way to and from school. The government required them to obtain a covered van to transport their children before they were allowed back into school.
Reformed Heart Orphans Center (Kenya)has six additional children entering high school next year, creating more transportation needs as they deliver them to their schools.
Oakseed’s Ministry Liaisons travel to help identify potential new ministry partners and regularly visit existing partners to offer encouragement, counsel, and support. Read liaison reports from recent visits to Kenya Needy Orphans and Children and Oakseed’s ministry partners in India.
Oakseed offers opportunities to support these ministries through prayer and general and specific giving. We also publish an annual bazaar catalog full of gifts that Oakseed and our partners have carefully chosen to meet the real needs of their particular ministries. These are blessings above and beyond our ongoing support for their ministry work and are excellent options for Christmas gifts, birthdays, anniversaries, or any other occasion. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to request a catalog. To support these ministries with funds for travel, please visit our group gifts catalog page.
