Gospel Ministry and Medical Care

One glaring need shared by people with whom Oakseed’s ministry partners work is quality medical care, including access to vitamins, medicines, prenatal care, infant healthcare, and more.

Individuals who live in the slums often suffer from easily treatable health issues. Children and mothers suffering from severe malnutrition need long-term care to thrive.

Believing that the gospel addresses the whole person and that the Lord calls believers to care for the sick and needy, Oakseed’s ministry partners seek to ensure that the people the work with receive the best medical care possible while hearing the gospel.

Please Pray:

  • For the Lord to heal the sick, both physically and spiritually.
  • For the Lord to give hope and dignity to those who are ill, using even their suffering to bring them to faith in Christ.
  • For the Lord to support and encourage caregivers, helping them to not grow weary in their labors and teaching them to trust in Him.
  • For the Lord to bring about natural opportunities for sharing the gospel and discipleship as Oakseed’s ministry partners serve their communities.
  • For the Lord to provide for Oakseed’s ministry partners.
  • For boldness and protection for Oakseed’s ministry partners as they share the gospel.

Here is a sampling of Oakseed’s ministry partners who provide medical care and supplies to their communities as they minister the gospel to them.

Angel Care Pregnancy Center (Liberia) has stepped into the medical services desert in Liberia to provide quality care to a vulnerable community with prenatal and postnatal care for mothers. The Liberian government doesn’t assist the poor, and Liberian women desperately need access to quality prenatal and postnatal care to save the lives of mothers and infants. For many women, Angel Care is their only access to maternal healthcare.

Ashirvad Kanti (India) visits impoverished families in the slums, where people often suffer from easily treated health issues, to provide medications like antibiotic wound cream, over-the-counter pain medication, and vitamins. Staff are also able to refer more significant health issues to the local hospital.

Jars of Oil Mission Africa (Uganda) cares for grannies who often go years without medical care. These grannies live in deep poverty and can barely meet their own needs, let alone the unexpected demands of grandchildren now in their care. Many grannies suffer from HIV or other illnesses, so JOMA arranges medical treatment.

Love Link (El Salvador) serves families from the slums of San Salvador. Malnourished babies and young children are referred to the center from local hospitals. Most of the babies brought to Love Link are near death when they arrive. Many mothers are malnourished and unable to produce breast milk to nourish their babies.

Love Link also serves villages far from San Salvador by bringing a medical and nutrition brigade to their community. Since many cannot travel to the city for regular checkups, this service helps 120 individuals in llopango, Altiplano, and El Porvenir. Recipients also receive food baskets, medicine, milk, and clothes.

Love Never Fails (Ethiopia) decreases the spread of HIV/AIDS and frees women from prostitution. They provide health and medical resources like medicines, bandages, antiseptic cream, hygiene products, soap, and toothbrushes for medical staff to use as they minister door-to-door to men and women who have HIV/AIDS.

Sugandh (India) operates community outreach programs to provide basic health care, including dental and medical screenings and events to draw awareness to health issues such as dengue fever and tuberculosis.

Oakseed offers opportunities to support these ministries through prayer and general and specific giving. We also publish an annual bazaar catalog full of gifts that have been carefully chosen by Oakseed and our partners to meet the real needs of their specific ministries. These are blessings above and beyond our ongoing support for their ministry work and are excellent options for Christmas gifts, birthdays, anniversaries, or any other occasion. Please contact info@oakseed.org for more information or to request a catalog. To give the gift of medical care, vitamins and medicine, or medical equipment to these ministries, visit our group gifts catalog page.
