Bio

Rev. Julian Bull was born in the United Kingdom. As a result of his father’s employment as a research scientist, he lived in Nigeria, Tanzania, Malaysia, and London before attending college. Julian was converted to Christianity through a local church while in college. Soon after, he felt the Lord’s call to pastoral ministry and entered theological training in Sydney, Australia. Julian has been the pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Perth, Australia, since 1979. In addition, for 20 years, he has provided leadership support to Mustard Seed Orphanage in Myanmar and was instrumental in bringing Mustard Seed into partnership with Oakseed.

Initial Connection with Oakseed

Some friends and I were staying in a hotel in Yangon after working in our orphanages. At that time, it was rare to see other Europeans in that hotel; usually, the ones you saw were missionaries. One day, we saw a gentleman and began talking with him to find out what he was doing in Yangon. It turned out to be Rev. Ed Bradley, founder of Oakseed. We immediately struck up a friendship, and he asked to visit the orphanages we had been working with, so we took him on a tour. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and encouragement for all of us. On our way back, we spent time enjoying the sunset and praying together, with Dr. Bradley praying for us and the work of the gospel in Myanmar.

It’s been a blessing for me to be involved with Oakseed. It’s encouraging to know anybody and everybody interested in God’s work in a country like Myanmar, and Oakseed has been a tremendous support and encouragement in what we like to call our “little big work for God” in that part of the world.

Notes from Liaison

“I think, when it comes to praying,

that there is no doubt that

prayer is the vital thing

that makes such a difference to everything we try to do.

I’m so grateful to God for you all over there at Oakseed.

Thank you on behalf of thousands

of very grateful and precious souls

in that lovely but broken land of Myanmar.”
